Next I installed the pump base. The pump slides off and on its plastic base. I just cemented it inside the tank with JB Weld. [Disclaimer: It remains to be seen how long JB Weld will hold under hot oil -- I hope a long time.] Pretty snazzy clamp-up, huh?

Post-Build Note: This is a 500 GPH garden fountain pump. If I had it to do over again I’d buy a much more powerful pump, because, while it does move the oil, it moves it rather too slowly for my taste.
