I wanted a screen in the tank to prevent anything falling onto the heater or pump, and to keep any big stuff anyway from drifting into the pump. Dig my fancy bending brake! Because I’ve been snagged by wire before, I decided right away to fold all the sharp edges under rather than just cut to size.
Hey, it fits! I used red cable ties to give me something to grab to pull the screen out when needed. Also note the yellow cable ties (kind of like duct tape, aren’t they?) around the hose coming off the pump. That’s to keep it from kinking at the sharp bend where it comes off the top of the pump. There’s about 6” depth between the screen and the fill line. I think that’ll be enough for my purposes.
