Well I guess this is the acid test, isn’t it? Time to fill it with, in my case, about 7 gallons of Houghton Quench G. Then we’ll plug this bad boy in and see if a) the pump will pump oil, and b) the heating element will get and hold 140 degrees. Oh, and c) whether the tank has any leaks... Let’s hope not, eh?

Coming up to heat rather nicely, thank you. Pump is still humming along.

The temp got up to about 150 degrees Fahrenheit (66 C) then dropped down to a steady 140 (60C).

But guess what? I had a freakin leak! Right where the power for the pump went through the side of the tank. Dang! So I emptied the tank, took all the wiring apart and epoxied the living #$@%#& out of that hole... And I’m praying that will hold it. Of course, I also hope the pump doesn’t give up its ghost too soon! :-)      --Wish me luck.--        That’s all for now. Thanks for reading this far.

Post Script: Metric dimensions of the tank are approximately 43 X 36 X 19 cm. The wire mesh is 1.3 cm square, a piece 46 X 61 cm. Thanks Reg!
